Safety
This plate is wooden, there are specific safety rules to follow to prevent damaging the garments:
* Check for Splinters: Over time, the edges of a wooden plate can chip. Regularly inspect it to ensure there are no wood fibers or splinters sticking out that could snag expensive fabrics like silk or polyester.
* Solvent Sensitivity: While the white surface is usually chemical-resistant, prolonged exposure to heavy solvents (like Acetone) can sometimes peel the white laminate or soften the wood glue. Always wipe the plate dry immediately after a spotting session.
* No Heat: Do not use a heat gun or steam iron directly on this plate for too long, as extreme heat can cause the wood to warp or the white surface to bubble.
Storage
* Dry Storage: Never store this plate in a damp or humid corner. Wood can absorb moisture and swell, which will make the white surface uneven or "wavy."
* Avoid Soaking: Never wash this plate by dipping it in a bucket of water. Only use a damp cloth to clean the surface and dry it instantly.
* Flat Stacking: Store it horizontally on a flat shelf. If you lean it against a wall at an angle for a long time, the wood may take a permanent "set" or bend.
